One of the many fundamental absurdities of our human
condition exposed by the 17th century French thinker, Blaise Pascal,
is the relationship between might [la force] and right [la justice]. In ideal
social systems there is a harmonious relationship between might and right.
Might without right is tyranny; but there can be no system without might. And a
tyrannical, unfair system is a lesser evil than no system at all.
White supremacy is an unfair, tyrannical system for all
non-Whites. The big question, then, is: is it a lesser evil than no system at
all? Or, does this very question really beg the question?
